brushing and threads
preventing rust in the process
what you need to know
If you have threads that require zinc coating but need to be clean enough for the threads to work correctly, the threads can be brushed while the zinc is still molten. This leaves adequate zinc to prevent rust while leaving the thread clean.
Items too long or too large to be centrifuged, such as long threaded rods, may also be brushed while hot to remove any excess zinc from threads.
